The MCBAP approved courses  are designed to assist substance abuse providers, prevention educators, counselors, administrators, managers, social workers, probation officers, mental health workers, group home staff, nurses, and doctors meet their continuing education, credentialing, and certification requirements for CADC, CADAADC, CPS, CCJP, CCDP, CCDP-D and CPRM. Laying the Foundation maintains a complete curriculum for all certifications.

TITLE OF PROGRAM: CERTIFIED ALCOHOL AND DRUG COUNSELOR (CADC)                                                              Course # 1000 Total Clock Hours: 270

Brief Description                                                        The course serves a component of the growing behavioral health care industry. The program is designed for individuals who may choose to seek rewarding employment as a professional alcohol and drug counselor, co-occurring disorder counselor, substance use disorder counselor, treatment specialist, or mental health program support clinical staff.  Course topics covered include ethics and professionalism, pharmacology, core functions of addiction counseling, co-occurring disorders, cultural diversity, prevention, treatment, electronic health care, recovery and wellness. The course will enhance the students understanding and appreciation for becoming a treatment specialist or treatment professional. Performance domain and skills learned

TITLE OF PROGRAM: CERTIFIED ADVANCE ALCOHOL AND DRUG COUNSELOR

course # 1100 Total Clock Hours: 180

Brief Description

The program is designed for Master’s Degree **Degree or license at a Master’s Level must be in Psychology, Clinical Social Work, Counseling, or Marriage and Family Therapy with a clinical application, having included a supervised internship or practicum within the degree. Degree must be from a regionally accredited institution of higher learning. Experiential degrees are not accepted. Course topics covered include ethics and professionalism, pharmacology, core functions of addiction counseling, co-occurring disorders, cultural diversity, prevention, treatment, electronic health care, recovery and wellness.  Brief Description

International Certification & Reciprocity Consortium (ICRC) Exam Prep courses are for students seeking certification through Michigan Certification Board and are ready prepare for the examination at least 16 weeks before the scheduled exam date.  The courses are accelerated classes.
